Art Barn Afternoon Workshop
Join Julia Morgan-Leamon afternoons between 1:30 and 3:00 in the Art Barn! Julia returns to IA with her husband, Jonathan, and triplet 16 year olds from Western Massachusetts where the family tries to keep up with llamas, horses, cats, and a dog named Drifter. Julia makes paintings and video/sculpture installations, teaches art, and consults for the Williams College Museum of Art in Williamstown, MA. Julia is the illustrator of The Bear Who Missed the Boat, a children’s book set on Star Island written by Portia Weiskel.
During the winters of 2010 and 2011, Julia led Williams College art students to Egypt for cultural exchanges. In 2010 the group was in Cairo when the demonstrations began. Watch this video of her experiences during the protests, "An Artist Paints The Egyptian Revolution."
This winter she and her students worked on this collaborative art project with students from the Luxor College of Art.

Here are some other photos from artists and Art Barn participants.
